The program of study leading to the Bachelor of Science in Computational and Applied Mathematics degree program provides a solid foundation in the application of analytical, geometrical, and numerical methods in problem solving and logical deduction. This program is highly customizable. In addition to a core set of mathematics courses, the program also requires completion of a minor or track that prepares the student for graduate study or for employment in various mathematics and statistics-related fields. The program also offers accelerated tracks leading to the MAT teacher certification and the M.S. in applied statistics.

The goal of this major is to assist students in acquiring both an understanding of mathematics and an ability to apply it to the sciences.
