Our Mission

The Mission of the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology (EEOB) is to advance knowledge in the fields of evolution, organismal biology, ecology and environmental science and provide students with critical thinking skills needed to address current and future challenges.

Faculty in EEOB educate and mentor students in the fields of environmental science, ecology, evolution, and organismal biology through authentic interdisciplinary classroom, field, and research experiences. Our vision is to become the program of choice for undergraduate and graduate students seeking exceptional learning and research experiences and degrees in biology and environmental science. Graduates will leave our programs with the skills to enter the workforce or graduate programs and make meaningful contributions in their fields.
